Busker’s Inn is a live music festival where street musicians perform at special locations inside the hotel. The whole building will be filled with music. Hotel rooms, hallways, the roof, smoking area’s and the basement. All of those transform into a stage for buskers from all over the world. From soul stirring singer-songwriters in the basement to brassy spirited folk bands on the roof.
Everyone is welcome to join and entrance is free. You do need to bring your wallet though, because the same principle of the streets remains: street musicians will pass the hat around after performing. Visitors decide themselves what they think a performance is worth. Donations made while musicians pass the hat go directly (and entirely) to the musician.
Programme
// Buck It // Pop/Beats
Two Aussie bucket drummers have found each other in the midst of Berlin. After a short bucket battle the two decided to unite as one.
// The Soul Travelers // Hiphop/Folk/Indie
Hiphop raps, folk, jazz and funky rhythms is what The Soul Travelers are all about. They’ll bring an acoustic sound of poetic raps, folk, soul and most of all: the sound of summer.
// Thomas Hook // Folk/Indie/Americana
Bored as hell in a mid-sized Dutch country town, Thomas Hook started practising Hendrix and Steve Ray Vaughan riffs on his guitar. His music is clearly influenced by his favorite blues and folk songs.
// Dax Niesten // Indie/Folk
Lo-fi singer-songwriter Dax lives inside her own bubble. Her music give the outsider the opportunity to enter this bubble. A place where everything is visible.
// Marije de Vries // Soul/Folk
Marije de Vries caresses her guitar-strings, yet still she produces a powerful sound. Her songs are mysterious, but very down to earth.
