âKin-Kaleidoscopeâ (exposition) by Ulas Uygun // 16 â 24 March
The text-based installation by Oli Uygun delves into the intricate dynamics of family, examining its profound influence on self-expression and creativity, specifically within literature. It reflects on the dual nature of family as both a fundamental part of our identity and a complex aspect of our lives that may require introspective healing. In an era where mental health and generational traumas are increasingly recognised, Kin-Kaleidoscope offers a nuanced perspective on family relationships, inviting viewers to reflect on their own familial experiences with a blend of seriousness and humour.

âHet zijn net mensenâ (exposition) by Lo Andela and Alexandra van Houcke
Praying mantises with mood swings, flirty lobsters that have trouble taking up space, recalcitrant gourmet loving crocodiles with an extreme gift for language. Artist Lo Andela exhibits paintings of his animal family with the shortest short stories you can think of. Let yourself be taken into the wonderful world of Lootje, where you will recognize yourself and your family in colourful fish, tattooed penguins, hip giraffes and serious praying mantises. During the visit you can listen to more extensive background stories of these eccentric animals on your phone, read by writer and journalist Alexandra van Houcke.
